Port of Entry Procedures
Port of entry is the first place of landing in the US. Some common ports of entry are Detroit (KLM-nothwest), Chicago(united airlines, British airways), Washington DC(delta, united airlines) etc.
Some time before landing at your port of entry in the US, you will be distributed customs declaration forms and immigration forms by the flight attendant. Fill them out on flight. You will be required to turn them in to the proper authorities on landing. Seek the flight attendant's help if necessary. On the customs form, most students indicate that they have nothing to declare and the total value of all items in their baggage do not exceed $100. Unless you are carrying something pretty valuable or illegal (which is usually not the case), you may do the same.
